welcome everyone and happy fathers day to all, I once said in a blog that there would be more story’s about my dad and this seems like an appropriate time. We grew up in northern New Jersey with a dad that loved to hunt and fish, he taught us how to enjoy the outdoors and respect all it has to offer, With four brothers to join in on all the fun it made for some great times. Back as far as I can remember we always had great stuff to play with, you know dart guns, bow and arrows, bb guns, all the important things for your eye hand coordination, he was always thinking of our future. Gadgets:) Dad bought into every advertisement there was, there was this cream you rubbed on your hands to keep them warm, replacing gloves, RIGHT! let me tell ya when we went duck hunting on the river behind our house in the middle of the winter without gloves on, we ran home crying from the pain, racing to the kitchen sink to warm our hands, the stuff didn’t work. I remember once coming down the driveway, I saw this strange shape in the twilight on top of a picnic bench, it was freezing cold, I couldn’t quite make it out, when I went inside Mom said ”Dad bought a new sleeping bag” yup! U.S army issued mummy bag, he laid in the cold for hours just to see how it worked. That mummy bag stayed with us forever, I slept in in many a time. Yea it was fun growing up on Roosevelt Blvd. We had lots of friends in the neighborhood, once I was hanging with a buddy playing with click clacks, remember them? well here comes dad driving home from work as he went passed us he slams on the breaks jammed it into park, gets out walking briskley toward us, we thought we were screwed!! ( we were always doing something wrong) he reaches out to my friend, grabs the click clacks fliping them around, like he knew how to do it, then he handed them back and drove off ”you should of seen my buddy’s face He scared the hell out of us. yea my dad was a little crazy and a lot of fun, sure do miss the good ole times on Roosevelt Blvd. Here’s an up date on the fishing scene off of Key West. The mahi bite continues to be good depending how hard you work, we found a school of 10 to 20 lb fish and caught our fair share, looking to catch a marlin but haven’t hooked one yet but will keep trying, the tuna are in and out this year, hoping to see them show up like last year, the snapper bite has been great and should continues as the summer progresses, if you put your time in you will probably see a wahoo as they are cruising the slicks and the weed lines looking for a free meal. I hope everyone enjoys there fathers day, remember that there not here forever! last note there’s a new kid in town, Remington Robert LeDuc my new grandson and my Dads name sake, if dad were here he would be proud as a peacock!! Remember to sharpen your hooks!!

Hi to all, I want to start out by welcoming my new grand baby Remi, to this crazy place we all live, he was born on the 29th, of May, not without a few issues, but through it all he is shining like a star! Some day he will be a great fishermen.:) Ok with that said lets get to it, the tarpon have been around the channels all over KW and depending on the wind can be seen rolling and will eat at will. the last few trips the wind has been hard out of the east we ended up catching a few on the in coming tide, along with a few sharks to 70 pounds, everyone loves seeing those sharks on the line! Off shore has been great for sailfish, the east wind and the east current has had them tailing down sea. they are easy to catch in that situation, my friend said he caught 27 in 2 trips out, wow! great for KW. I also want to thank Capt. mike Weinhofer of Compass rose charters for being the kind of fisherman he is! this guy will help any one on the water and is a teacher of the sport, and a pleasure to fish around, if any one wants to have a great day e mail him at Admin@fisnkw.com Ok now, Jonathan Edwards what the f#$k is up with these people? Arnold Schwarzengger, who voted for these guys? I am a little embarrassed to be part of this country, lets think before we vote for just any body. Lets face it there will always be fools in this world but we don’t have to put them in charge! Sorry I know this is a fishing blog but I cant help my self. On another note my capt friend Bubba has just celebrated 1 year cancer free!! on June 2 last year they gave him a blood transfusion after a year of radiation and it worked happy birthday to you my friend on your 1st birthday, we love you!! Thanks for listening and remember I’ll sharpen your hooks for ya.
